Free Digidesign SignalTools DigiRack Plug-in Suite

SignalTools is a new suite of multichannel metering and analysis tools, now available as part of the free DigiRack collection of plug-ins compatible with all Digidesign Pro Tools systems and VENUE. SignalTools is comprised of the redesigned SurroundScope and new PhaseScope plug-ins. Both sport the easy-to-read interface introduced with Digidesign’s popular Dynamics III and EQ III, plus a variable window Leq(A) meter with several features tailored specifically to Pro Tools.

New DigiRack Time Shift Plug-in — Free Download
Time Shift is a free DigiRack AudioSuite™ plug-in that delivers high-quality time stretching and pitch shifting for all Digidesign Pro Tools and Avid DNA™ systems. Equipped with four distinct algorithms, Time Shift lets you tailor processing to different types of source material. Choose Polyphonic to change a guitar or keyboard performance, or a full mix. Select Monophonic if you’re altering vocals or solo instruments. Pick Rhythmic to compress or stretch a loop. Or use Varispeed when you’re converting the sample rate of an audio file. With a wide range for stretching, compressing, and pitch-shifting, you can achieve anything from mild to extreme results.

Pro Tools Accelerated Videos

Whether you’re new to Pro Tools and need help getting started, or you just want some helpful tips to speed up your workflow, be sure to check out Digidesign’s new Pro Tools Accelerated tutorial videos. Hosted by musician, producer, and veteran clinician Phil Jackson, Pro Tools Accelerated is a series of short videos covering a variety of topics, from basics like creating a session template to using virtual instruments like Xpand!™ and Hybrid, all the way up to more advanced subjects like ReWire streaming and Region Groups.

Upcoming Pro Tools Compatibility with Apple’s New Mac Pro
Digidesign is excited to announce that ICON, Pro Tools|HD, Pro Tools LE™, and Pro Tools M-Powered systems will soon be compatible with the new Mac Pro introduced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Digidesign is expecting to release an Intel-based Mac-compatible update to its acclaimed Pro Tools HD 7.2 software in September 2006. This free update for all owners of Pro Tools HD 7.2 software will allow ICON and Pro Tools|HD users to build their Digidesign systems around the new Mac Pro. Based on preliminary testing, Digidesign is also expecting that version 7.1.1 of Pro Tools LE and Pro Tools M-Powered software (already compatible with Apple’s existing range of Intel-based computers such as MacBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini and iMac) will function on the new Mac Pro without problems. Full qualification is expected late Q4 2006.
